About the duo
Lyra Project is Rick Denzien and his partner Debra Lee. Both were solo artists before they teamed up; the duo’s bio says they bonded at a record-release party for a regional compilation CD where they were both featured as solo artists. The name nods to the constellation Lyra (the lyre of Orpheus), the ancestor of the guitar and piano they play. “Project” signals a work in progress that keeps evolving.
Rick produces and engineers the duo’s records at his bah-fō studio in Ambler, PA. Their first song as Lyra Project, “Patiently Waits”, which they co-wrote and both sing on, was released in early January 2008 (The Reporter, Jan 25, 2008).
The same bio describes a shared commitment to protecting the climate: touring in an all-electric vehicle and running their home and studio on solar. See Rick’s work on EVs and solar.
